Country Road!

Country Road –Take me home to the place for National Soil Judging – West Virginia!
Friday, March 23, the team was all packed into our Dodge caravan and the car top carrier was loaded.  We pulled out of the parking lot at 1:15 pm.  We traveled south to Madison, changed some drivers and arrived in Mendota Illinois for dinner around 7:00.  I called ahead and made our reservations at the Days Inn in Farmer City Illinois, which is west of Urbana, Ill.   We ate at Ziggy’s which was the local farmer night out restaurant in Mendota, the middle of Illinois farm country.  We all had some pretty good meals, I had catfish, Nora; spaghetti, Katie; bacon toasted cheese, Melissa; egg sandwich, Tom club sandwich and Blair had tilapia the fish.  We left a city tip and were on the road by 7:50.  Blair took us into Farmer City and the motel, arriving around 9:30 and all went to their rooms for a night's sleep.

Up at 6:30 to check out the breakfast and I had some oatmeal and others waffles or cereal.  We soon were heading east to Ohio and our destination of Morgantown.  We stopped for some real coffee at Starbucks and later lunch at a Subway on the east side of Columbus.  A few rain drops followed us east but not many.   Blair took us the last 200 miles to our motel, Euro Suites.  We have nice large rooms with the guys in one and the gals in the other.  I took the couch/pullout in the front room and gave the boys the back bedroom.  We are now waiting for the packet of directions to arrive so we know the schedule for tomorrow.  I will try a little grading while watching some golf at Arnold’s tournament.  Practice day 1 tomorrow.
